New Years Eye Health Resolutions

Many people use the new year as a time to set new goals and refocus priorities. As your eye doctor, we couldn’t wish for better resolutions than a year of safe and healthy vision. Try adding these to your plan for 2016:

Replace and care for contact lenses as prescribed and make it a point to go to all office visits and exams
Wear safety goggles when working around the house and while playing sports – that is when most eye injuries occur
Eat a diet rich in antioxidants (green, leafy vegetables for sure) that studies have shown may prevent and reduce the effects of retinal disease
Have an eye health and vision examination every year to ensure that your eyes are healthy and you are seeing your best – many eye diseases begin without noticeable symptoms but are much more successfully treated if diagnosed early
